International premiere and UK 22/23 tour dates for Proto-type’s DEAD CATS.

DEAD CATS written in orange text on a grey background. Below are two women, one in a white suit with a dark bob. One in a navy jumpsuit style top, with blond hair. They are playing 'cats cradle' with orange string. 'White suit' looks out at us sternly, 'navy' looks up with feigned innocence.

We’re almost ready to premiere our new show, Dead Cats, and we’re delighted to be doing so as part of Studiobühneköln’s Theatreszene Europa Festival at the University of Cologne on Sunday 25th September.

We’re looking forward to sharing the piece, to connecting to international audiences and artists, and also to a chance to see Michael Pinchbeck and Ollie Smith’s A Seventh Man at Orangerie Theatre.

In rooms like this room people lie.

Not little lies, the kinds of lies that kill people, or worse…

Dead Cats reunites the team behind A Machine they’re Secretly Building, and The Audit (or Iceland, a modern myth) and continues our investigations into privilege, power, protest, and control as part of our Truth to Power Project. This time we’re looking at the slippery truth, shifting political optics, and how language is used to shape our world. In complex times full of manipulated distractions, Dead Cats asks who is really in charge?

In rooms like this room, language is laundered.

The name of the game is spin.

Dead Cats blends new writing, performance, film-making, and an obvious plant, to show – not tell – the truths behind the fictions.
